One of the first blogs to start it all, The Sartorialist. This blog created by Scott Schuman in 2005, is widely accredited in the fashion industry. More specifically, the blog encompasses streetwear life from the day to day community. You don’t have to be the most flashy individual walking along the sidewalk, but that sense of style and individuality is always accepted within the culture of this blog and in the streetwear industry.
This blog has inspired me over the years to constantly stay creative when it comes to fashion and pushing boundaries that most individuals would not. You can see parallels between my blog and The Sartorialist because I enjoy the content it produces. Through their blog, I can see how individuals are dressed and the different styles and trends that seem to be in. With the vast photography, it puts into perspective the world around me.
The way they structure their site makes it all the more pleasing when scrolling through. The site is separated through city and tags. You may click a picture and it lets you know the city in which it was taken, and then also shows the other photos within the city. I like this because it gives you that sense of a demographic and how the culture within the city is.
The other way the site is broken up is within tags. Within the tags you can click on “boots, accessories, handbags, etc.”, and it takes you to all the photos tagged with that specific article and you can get numerous looks.
Within my blog I wanted to do the same thing as far as drawing inspiration, updating individuals and overall giving back to the community. This sense of community is what has held this blog at the top, and around for more than a decade.
I truly recommend this blog if you are interested in the fashion industry or intrigued at the least.
